Part Time Seamstress & Pattern Maker

Nadia Wire is expanding the team and is looking for a part time (2-3 days per week) seamstress and pattern maker to join our team. We are a small team, that operates under one roof in Søborg, DK, where the design and production team works together to constantly reinforce our products quality and to optimize our manufacturing processes. We manufacture all our products on made-to-order concept and therefore production flow variates according to our different delivery windows.

Responsibilities:

  • Pattern drafting and sewing of prototypes for new collections.
  • Document and create sewing operation manuals (must be in English).
  • Sewing of products for production.
  • Manage and maintain the sewing studio’s materials, sewing equipment and machines.
You will report to the Production Manager and Product Developer.
 

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience from a similar position.
  • Trained seamstress and pattern maker with work experience within the fashion industry.
  • Perfect skills in machine sewing, hand sewing and pattern making.
  • Good verbal and written English skills are essential as we have a dynamic team.
  • Basic skills in excel and word is a must.
  • Knows how to operate the following equipment: Industrial & domestic sewing machines, linking knitting machines, chainstitch & overlocking sewing machines.
  • Knowledge in knitted fabrics is a plus but not necessary.
  • Works well independently, is detail oriented and a perfectionistic with their work

Knitting Trainee Program 24/25

Nadia Wire is looking for a dedicated knitting trainee to join the Company for a 1-year traineeship. Nadia Wire’s Knitting Trainee Program offers ambitious and passionate graduates a paid opportunity to learn in depth about digital knitting, programming, and manufacturing. The aim with the program is to give newly graduates a unique chance to obtain qualifications in digital knitting and the possibility to become a part of the Nadia Wire team. Throughout the trainee program you will also gain insights to Nadia Wire’s dynamic business and creative atmosphere.

Qualifications needed: 

  • BA or MA in Knitwear Design, Knitwear Engineering, or related studies.
  • Excellent skills in knitwear development, Stoll digital knitting machines and M1Plus.
  • Skills in the following programs: In-design, Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel.
  • Eligible to work in Denmark.

The traineeship is divided into 2 stages, to give the trainee a full introduction to the Company’s machines, systems, and textiles.

 

Stage 1: Introduction to Nadia Wire’s fine knitted fabrics, machines, and production.

  • Operation of our 12-gauge knitting machines: handling and threading of machines, maintenance, troubleshooting etc.
  • Assist with knit production and quality control of our fine knitted fabrics.
  • Introduction to programming in M1Plus.
  • Assist with textile development: color and tension swatches, stitches, artwork preparation and knitting calculations.
  • Assist with material usage calculation, sourcing, and production overviews.
  • Archive and organize textiles according to the Company’s Policy.

Stage 2: Introduction to Nadia Wire’s heavy knitted fabrics, machines, and production.

  • Operation of our 5-gauge knitting machines: handling and threading of machines, maintenance, troubleshooting etc.
  • Assist with knit production and quality control of our heavy knitted fabrics.
  • Assist with shape development: fully fashioning details and grading of products.
  • Maintain our yarn stock and update the systems when needed.
Knitting Trainee Program

During the 1-year program you will report to the Product Developer and Production Manager. There will be a midway evaluation of the trainee.

Freelance Seamstress

Tasks:

  • Pretreatment of textiles, such as: yarn fixation and steaming.
  • Follow the Company’s production manuals & sewing of products.
  • Making sure products are always meeting the Company’s quality standards.

The ideal candidate:

  • Trained seamstress with a minimum of 2+ years of experience.
  • Perfect skills in machine sewing and hand sewing.
  • Knows how to operate industrial linking and chainstitch machines is a plus.
  • Is reliable and always follows crucial deadlines.
  • Knowledge about knitted fabrics is a plus but not necessary.
  • Works well independently, is detail oriented and perfectionistic with their work.

You will report to our Production Manager. Hourly pay and hours can be flexible, doesn’t necessarily need to be full days in case you are studying/have another job.

Design Intern 2025

Tasks:

  • Assist with research, sourcing, and stitch development on our manual operated knitting machines (dubied and domestic).
  • Preparing of artworks in illustrator/photoshop.
  • Prototyping: pattern making, sampling (sewing) and assisting with fittings.
  • Creation of technical drawings, techpacks and grading specs.
  • Update collection overviews and boards when needed.
  • Always keep the design studio tidy and the textile archive organized.
  • Occasionally assist the team with other related tasks.

The Ideal candidate:

  • (On-going) Degree in Fashion, Textiles or Knitwear Design.
  • Skills in machine knitting, pattern cutting, and sewing is a must.
  • Excellent skills in Photoshop, illustrator, and In-design.
  • Basic knowledge in digital knitting is a plus but not necessary.
  • Always updated on the newest fashion trends.
  • Extremely organized and precise with your work.
  • Can work independtly and not afraid to take initiative.
