Sewing Responsible

Nadia Wire is expanding and is looking for a full time sewing responsible to join our sewing team. We are a small team, that operates under one roof in Søborg, DK, where the design studio, development, and production team works together to constantly reinforce our products quality and to optimize our manufacturing processes. We manufacture all our products on a made-to-order concept and therefore production flow variates according to our e-commerce and retailers’ delivery windows.

We are looking for sewing responsible, which will manage and train our seamstress team, while daily be responsible of the sewing production of our products.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-treatment of textiles: yarn fixation and steaming
  • Sewing production of all products and quality control of products
  • Update and follow our operation manuals
  • Hire and train new seamstresses when needed in busy production times
  • Occasionally participate with development of new products and patterns

You will report directly to the Creative Director.

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience from a similar managing position
  • Trained seamstress/pattern maker with minimum 2-4 years of work experience within the field
  • Perfect skills in machine sewing, hand sewing and pattern making for knitwear
  • Knows how to operate the following equipment: industrial/domestic sewing machines, linker knitting machines, chainstitch sewing machines.
  • Set and follow-through deadlines within the team is essential
  • Knowledge in knitted fabrics is a plus but not necessary
  • Works well independently, is detail oriented, and a perfectionistic with their work

Design Intern

Nadia Wire is looking for a dedicated design intern to join our design team in Søborg, Copenhagen. We can offer you a great learning opportunity, if you are passionate about knitwear, fashion and textile design. You will be a part of a small team and will therefore be given a lot of responsibilities. You will work closely with the Creative Director.

 

Responsibilities include tasks such as:

  • Assist with research and sourcing of materials

  • Stitch development on our domestic knitting machines

  • Preparing of artworks in illustrator/photoshop

  • Pattern making, sampling, and prototyping

  • Update collection overviews, boards etc.

  • Occasionally assist the knitting production team

The Ideal candidate:

  • (On-going) Degree in Knitwear or Fashion Design

  • Skills in machine knitting is a must (dubied and domestic)

  • Excellent skills in pattern making, machine and hand sewing

  • Basic knowledge of digital knitting machines (Stoll) is a plus but not necessary

  • Proficient user in Photoshop, illustrator, and In-design

  • Passionate about sustainability and manufacturing

  • You are extremely organized and has a strong attention to details

  • You enjoy working independently, not afraid to take initiative and always meet deadlines

Knit development intern

Nadia Wire is looking for a dedicated knit development intern to join our head office in Søborg, Copenhagen. We can offer you a great learning opportunity, if you are passionate about digital knitting and knitwear development. You will be a part of a small team and will therefore be given a lot of responsibilities. You will report directly to the Product developer.


Responsibilities include tasks such as:

  • Receive training in M1Plus and our Stoll machines.
  • Daily maintenance of our machines: change needles, oil machines, threading up yarns etc.
  • Preparing artworks in photoshop for M1Plus.
  • Testing new yarns and stitches on our machines.
  • Updating development and production boards/files and keeping track of our yarns stock.
  • Starting production orders on machines and make sure production runs smoothly
  • Finishing textiles and general organisation of the knitting
  • Occasionally assist the Creative Director with design tasks.

The Ideal candidate:

  • (On-going) Degree in Knitwear or Textile Design
  • Skills in knitted textiles and machine knitting is a must.
  • Basic knowledge of M1plus and digital knitting machines is a plus but necessary.
  • Skills in Photoshop, illustrator and In-design is a must.
  • Passionate about
  • You are extremely organized, patient and precise with your work.
  • You can work independtly, not afraid to take initiative and takes direction very well.
