COPENHAGEN CONTEMPORARY X NADIA WIRE
Nadia Wire unveils Soft Horizon, an exclusive capsule collection and immersive window installation created in collaboration with Copenhagen Contemporary (CC) — one of Scandinavia’s leading international institutions for contemporary art.
Inspired by the shifting skies of Refshaleøen, where Copenhagen meets the sea, and the perceptual light environments of artist James Turrell, the collection translates fleeting gradients of colour, light, and depth into knitted garments. Soft hues of washed pink, luminous apricot, pale citrus, and sky blue evoke the atmosphere of a Scandinavian summer sunrise, resulting in a poetic exploration of light, materiality, and craftsmanship.
Extending beyond the body, the accompanying window installation offers visitors a glimpse into Nadia Wire's whimsical knit atelier by bringing vintage knitting machines into the museum space as part of the exhibition. Large-scale knitted wire textiles culminate in a monumental suspended bow welcoming guests into the museum, while chains wrapped in archive fabric scraps hangs from the ceiling to display the collaborative collection. Together, the installation reflects Nadia Wire's commitment to craftsmanship, material innovation, and circular design, transforming the knitting process into an immersive spatial experience.
The accompanying campaign was photographed by Henriette Sabroe Ebbesen, a Copenhagen-based photographer and filmmaker whose work bridges fine art and fashion through a poetic exploration of light, reflection, and perception.
