Jobs & Internships

Technical Knitwear Developer

*Closed for applications*

We are looking for a Technical Knitwear Developer to join our studio and work across both the development and in-house production of our knitwear.

We are primarily looking for someone with professional experience in technical knitwear and digital knitting. However, we are also open to candidates who are earlier in their career and have a strong foundation in knitting and textiles, combined with the technical curiosity and motivation to develop further.

The level, title and responsibilities of the position will be adapted to the experience of the right candidate. For a less experienced candidate, the position may therefore be offered at Junior or Assistant level, with training and support provided as part of the role.

At our studio, development and production are closely connected. You will work hands-on throughout the process — from knit development, sampling and technical refinement to production and final quality control.

You do not need to know all of our machinery or processes before joining us. What matters most is a good foundation in knitting and textiles, technical curiosity, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in both development and made-to-order production.

The role

Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities will include — or you will be trained to work with:

  • Developing and sampling knitted textiles and products, translating design ideas into technically feasible knitted products and production methods, and developing and refining knitted structures, shapes, constructions and fully fashioned details.
  • Producing knitted pieces and contributing hands-on to our day-to-day knitwear production. This includes operating our digital knitting machines and sewing machines, as well as machine setup, threading, knitting, sewing and troubleshooting.
  • Developing, modifying and maintaining knitting files using M1plus and Excel, supporting size development, grading and technical adjustments, and maintaining clear and organised technical files, samples and production references.
  • Setting up and preparing styles for production, monitoring knitting production and making technical adjustments when necessary.
  • Troubleshooting issues related to machinery, programming, yarn, construction and finishing.
  • Carrying out quality control throughout both development and production, ensuring consistency in construction, measurements, finishing and overall quality across produced pieces.
  • Testing and evaluating yarns, materials and finished products for durability, washing, wear, colour fastness and functionality.
  • Collaborating closely with design and production throughout the development process and contributing to the continued improvement of our technical processes, production methods and ways of working.

About you

You enjoy working hands-on and are curious about the relationship between design, materials, machinery, construction and craftsmanship. You are patient, detail-oriented and enjoy solving technical problems and refining processes.

Your background could be within knitwear, textile design, textile production, fashion, product development or a related field.

You may already have professional experience in technical knitwear development and production, or you may be relatively early in your career. We are interested in finding the right combination of foundation, technical mindset, craftsmanship and potential rather than expecting one candidate to already know everything.

For a more experienced candidate, we would expect you to take ownership of a larger part of the technical development and production process from the beginning. For a more junior candidate, we will provide the training and support needed to gradually take on these responsibilities.

Skills & experience

Ideally, you have some of the following:

  • Education and/or practical experience within knitwear, textiles, fashion or a related field.
  • An understanding of garment construction and pattern cutting, ideally for knitwear.
  • Practical machine sewing skills.
  • Experience with, or an understanding of, digital knitting and knitted structures.
  • Familiarity with M1plus and the development of stitches and samples is highly valued.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard for quality and craftsmanship.
  • The patience and precision required for hands-on production work.

Experience with any of the following is an advantage, but not a requirement:

  • Programming fully fashioned knitwear and size grading in M1plus.
  • Hands-on experience with digital knitting machines, particularly Stoll.
  • A technical and practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Small-scale or in-house production.
  • Quality control of textiles and finished products.

We do not expect candidates to have experience in all of these areas. If you have a strong foundation in knitwear and textiles but are missing some of the technical experience listed above, we still encourage you to apply. Training in our specific machinery, software and processes will be provided where required.

The position

This is a permanent, full-time position within our studio and an opportunity to become an important part of our in-house knitwear development and production.

The position will be shaped around the experience and technical level of the successful candidate. Depending on your background, the role may be offered as Technical Knitwear Developer, Junior Technical Knitwear Developer or Technical Knitwear Assistant.

You will work closely with our Creative Director and the wider studio team, with the opportunity to build your technical knowledge of our products, machinery and processes and take on increasing responsibility as you grow into the role.

Please apply by 30 September to be considered for the position. We encourage you to apply sooner rather than later, as we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.

Your application should include a CV, motivation letter, references and a relevant portfolio. Please submit attachments as PDF files only; we do not accept links or external downloads.
Please note that applicants must already have the legal right to work in Denmark. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide visa or work permit sponsorship for this position.

Development Internship

We are looking for a creative and technically curious Development Intern to join our team at Nadia Wire.

You will work closely with our design and development team and be involved in developing new knitwear from the first idea and initial sample through fittings, adjustments and preparation for production.

As all development takes place in-house at our knitting factory and sewing studio, you will gain hands-on experience with the complete development process and work directly with digital knitting machines, yarns, knitted textiles and garment construction.

Your tasks

Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the development of new styles, shapes and garment constructions, including pattern cutting, sewing, grading and technical adjustments.
  • Create prototypes and showroom samples using digital knitting machines and sewing machines, and assist with fittings and adjustments.
  • Work with artworks, patterns and technical files in Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel and/or M1Plus.
  • Assist with preparing and organising samples, yarns, materials and development documentation throughout the development process.
  • Work closely with the team to prepare developed styles for production and occasionally support production, photoshoots, events and other collection-related projects.
  • As part of a small team, help maintain an organised studio, showroom and sample archive.

Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Take part in our made-to-order production, including preparing yarns and materials, knitting textiles on our Stoll digital knitting machines and sewing garments and products.

  • Help maintain an organised and efficient knitting factory and sewing studio and support other production-related tasks when needed.
